The apartment was presented neatly, the host was friendly, and the location was convenient. The stairs can be a struggle with a baby if you're on the top floor. I'd suggest asking the host for a ground-floor apartment to avoid carrying a pram and other large items upstairs.

Bed bugs bit me every night, and we're still dealing with the problem now that they've come home with us to Suva. I have sensitive skin, swell badly from bites, and still have dark scars from our stay. The toilet in the other bathroom stopped flushing by the second day. We also ran out of toilet paper: there was only one roll per bathroom for four people over three days, and when I asked what to bring, I was told “groceries,” which I took to mean food. When I said the paper was gone, I was told to buy more ourselves. There wasn't enough dishwashing liquid either, and no washing powder. I would have brought those things if I'd been told. We were given only one set of keys for four people, so when one person wanted to go out, someone else had to lock or unlock the door, and the key was also needed to keep the AC and electricity on. This was the worst accommodation we've stayed at in Fiji, and we won't recommend it to friends or family.

Other things were fine, and the owner seemed nice, but I hope the bug control gets better. A giant cockroach crawled over my head. It was a nightmare, and I stayed awake the whole night.

The two-bedroom apartment was spacious, clean, modern, and stylish, and the price was affordable. Supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries and other places are within walking distance. There isn't a reception, so keep the owners' phone number handy to call when you're outside. The gates are always locked, and there's a carport for security.
