Ioane, our waiter, turned a bad first lunch into a much better experience. My chicken schnitzel was undercooked, but his apology felt genuine. He checked on us often, made sure it hadn’t spoiled our mood, and arranged complimentary cocktails for my partner and me. Vinaka Ioane. Dinner the next night was delicious, and I’d recommend the Honey Fire Ham. GPH was quiet and relaxing, while still conveniently in the city. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. Our main frustration was the air conditioning, which wasn’t cooling properly. We complained several times; a staff member inspected it and said he’d return with a ladder to change the filters, but never came back. The problem remained unresolved from check-in to check-out, which was disappointing. GPH is clean and relaxing, and better attention to maintenance would make for an exceptional stay.

We were given gifts at the end of our stay. Breakfast was very nice, and the rooms were great, with extremely comfortable beds. I slept better here than anywhere else during my time in Fiji. Being in the capital made it convenient to come back after a day travelling around Suva. It was clearly a four-star hotel, with great technology, phenomenal service, and very good styling and layout. A phenomenal experience.

My heritage room was beautifully luxurious, and I loved having the Victorian Lounge as a quiet place to relax with my book. The views were incredible. One evening brought a spectacular storm, and another a stunning sunset. Service at the Grand Pacific Hotel was first class. Rebecca in the restaurant remembered my coffee order and exactly how I like my eggs after just one day. Everything about my stay was wonderful, and I highly recommend this hotel.

The location and patio views were lovely, and the Grand Pacific is a beautiful property with impressive architecture. I’d happily stop by for tea or a cocktail, but wouldn’t recommend staying or dining here. Service was slow from the start, and staff seemed noticeably less friendly than at the other hotels we stayed in or visited in Fiji. We ate at the restaurant on our first night, and I got food poisoning that lasted two days and significantly affected our trip. The experience fell short. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

Breakfast always had fresh food and plenty of choices. The service was wonderful, with every staff member greeting us and being so helpful. When we needed to move checkout to a later hour, they were more than happy to accommodate us. We really enjoyed our stay.
