The owner is super friendly and knows how to look after tired travellers, with a few beers, soft drinks, and pastries. We’ve stayed a number of times, and the good points definitely outweigh the downsides. It’s quirky, clean, friendly, and reasonably priced, with well-equipped but very small wagons. The local area doesn’t have much to offer, and unless you book a large chalet, options are limited. It feels more like a party venue than somewhere to get away. It’s great as a stop on the way south to break up a journey, and I’m sure we’ll come back next year. I just wish he’d set up a firing range so we could play cowboys and Indians!

The wagons are stylish and really comfortable, with easy sleeping for four and a full kitchen. Kids can roam around the grounds, and there’s a river nearby for hiking or biking. Great place.

We’re here right as the season is starting, so it’s hard to judge, but it’s extremely quiet at the moment and we seem to be the only ones out. For the price, the room is really good, clean, and comfortable.

We stayed in a tipi, and it was very basic. It leaked when it rained, so I think the tipis need updating. There are other accommodation options at the site.
