Résidence Zénitude Besançon - Les Hauts du Chazal

We got a fairly spacious room, and late check-in was easy. But it smelled really bad. Since reception was closed, there was nobody to talk to, and with heavy rain that night we couldn’t really open the windows. After a long trip, we tried to put up with it. Luckily, we were only there for one night. We complained the next day and they seemed to listen, though I don’t know if they actually investigated. I wouldn’t return. Reception should stay open longer. Otherwise, I’d pay a little more for a better hotel. That was my mistake.

There’s an undercover garage available for a very reasonable fee. The place is no frills and easy to get in and out of, with the hospital within walking distance. If you need to be near the hospital, this is the place to stay.

The rooms are studio or apartment style, which gives them a homely feel, and the staff are good in a calm environment. It could use a few more amenities, like a full body mirror, but it’s a great place to stay and I highly recommend it.

The photos have nothing to do with the place. It was dirty, damaged and dated, and the fan was so noisy that I needed headphones to block it out. You couldn’t turn it off. Don’t believe the hotel's photos or the reviews. Totally unrealistic!
