ibis Styles Bordeaux Lac Bruges (Ouverture Novembre 2025)

The staff were friendly, the rooms were good, and breakfast was nice. There’s a small pool and secure parking for the car. The area got very loud with parties at the lake, and there were some strange people around.

The restaurant has a short menu, but the dishes we had were creative and tasty. There are also a few other places to eat nearby. It’s a new hotel with clean, modern rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Set on the outskirts of Bordeaux at Le Lac, it’s reachable by tram and a short walk.

We were travelling through France as a family and chose this hotel to avoid dealing with Bordeaux traffic, which can feel chaotic with pedestrians, bikes, and trams coming from every direction. The adjoining rooms worked really well, with my wife and me in one and our two kids in the other. Families of four can get a good deal here. The restaurant was excellent, a nice surprise since hotel restaurants are often average, though it closes on weekends. When it was shut, we drove a short way to the very popular Les Halles Bacalan, across from the wine museum, where there’s a large parking garage. The hotel itself is across from a cute lake that locals seem to love, and we enjoyed swimming there in the afternoon. A huge mall, probably Bordeaux’s largest, with all kinds of food and clothing shops, is only a few minutes away by car. The tram stop is a 10 minute walk for trips into the centre. This is a great choice for tourists driving or on a road trip who want to stay outside the city. If you don’t have a car and don’t need hotel parking, somewhere in the centre may suit you better. For drivers, I can’t imagine a better hotel.

We checked in late, and the receptionist already impressed us on the phone with her positive attitude. At the hotel she was just as cheerful and gave us great service, making sure we’d have a good stay. Thank you, Marie-Julie! The bartender that evening was also great and looked after us well. The hotel was in great shape and nicely furnished, and our room was perfect. Five stars!
