ibis Budget Carcassonne-La Cité

Parking is free on site, reception is open around the clock, and the hotel is a handy 10-15 minute walk from Carcassonne Castle. It's clean, well maintained, and the helpful, friendly staff speak English. The standards were in line with other Ibis budget hotels. The downside was seeing guests smoking in their rooms with the windows open, despite the clear signs saying smoking isn't allowed in the building or rooms.

We had a nice room with a lovely bathroom, and the breakfast was quiet and amazing. Service was relaxed, parking was free, and the fort was just a five-minute drive away. I booked for three, but the bunk bed hadn't been set up, so my brother had to do it before bed. We heard footsteps in the corridor at night, maybe other guests walking around. The hotel could use better soundproofing. I was worn out after visiting the Carcassonne fort, though, and fell asleep easily. I had a really good time there 👍🏽🔥🔥💯

Comfortable beds and a good, powerful shower. There's no wow factor, but it covers what a traveler needs at a good price. It's just a budget hotel, so if you don't expect anything spectacular, you won't be disappointed. No complaints from me.

The breakfast buffet was good, especially the fresh baguettes. There wasn't much choice of cheese or ham, though what they did have was excellent. The place was clean, simple and easy to get to, and the staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English. I liked my stay.
