Au Fil du Verdon

The pizza bread, chocolate milkshake, and BBQ chips were tasty, and getting them was quick and easy. It was a bit warm inside, with a few flies around, but I still enjoyed the food.

We keep coming back for the pizza, which we think is fantastic, and the drinks are good too. This was our third year in a row visiting in the afternoon, and we're from Germany, not locals. The prices are reasonable, the staff are welcoming and polite, and they even have a sense of humor. They're the same people who work at the bakery in the morning. It gets busy, so a short wait seems understandable. We've always paid in cash, and my wife used the toilet when we visited. After five years, though, it's still frustrating that they don't take cards. At least there's an ATM just 50 meters from the shop. We like the place enough that we don't want to risk going elsewhere, so I'm surprised by the bad reviews.

The food was good and the service went smoothly at this nice local restaurant. But in this day and age, not being able to pay by card is a problem. The local ATM charges 6 euros, so the tip we wanted to leave the waitress ended up going to the bank instead.

This was the worst bakery I visited in France. The coffee tasted like water, and I didn't care for the cakes either. When we asked for a sandwich, the woman behind the counter rolled her eyes, as if making a simple one was too much trouble.
