Campanile Rennes Sud - Chantepie

I ended up leaving before the third night and paid extra for another hotel. I never felt safe here, and I was worried about my car. On the first night, someone shone a torch through my window; the next night, around 2 a.m., someone was banging on the metal shutter. The radiator also kept cracking loudly all night, and the heating and other guests were noisy, so I couldn't sleep. The rooms are in a separate building from reception, with metal shutters that made mine feel closed in and blocked the natural light. It was dirty and dusty when I arrived. I also found human feces beside a shopping bag around the side of the hotel. I was there for work and had booked three nights. After that first sleepless night, I asked to cancel, but the hotel refused. My company tried too, and they still wouldn't let me cancel. I gave it another night, then pleaded with reception in the morning, but was told there'd be no refund. When I said I couldn't sleep and needed to move hotels, a staff member said it wasn't their fault and that all the guests needed to sleep. In the car park, someone also asked me for money and cigarettes. The place looks nice on sites like booking .com, but in reality it reminded me of a cheap American motel from the movies. I don't understand how they can keep my money after I tried so many times to get a refund or cancel. Absolutely ridiculous. Avoid at all costs.
