There were a few bright spots, like the microwave and staff who were decently polite, but the room was a disgrace. The bed left me with a new back problem. The kettle was filthy and unusable, and so was the stove. Hot water in the bath cut out at random, the pillows were flat, and the radiator stopped working for a while. The room barely held any heat. The TV remote hardly worked, the Wi-Fi was extremely spotty, and the plugs barely charged my phone.

We had a pleasant stay with four people. The place isn’t large, but it’s laid out well and comfortable, with a small balcony overlooking greenery that was nice for sitting with a drink. The area is peaceful and pleasant, near the Swiss border and Geneva city center. It took about 20-25 minutes to drive to P+R Sécheron. There was plenty of parking right in front of the building. The sofa-bed cushion was quite high and made sleeping less comfortable; a thinner one like the bedroom cushion might work better. There are also large trees around the parking area, which can feel concerning in very strong winds, though that has nothing to do with the property itself. We’d definitely recommend the place.

Free parking and strong Wi-Fi were good points, and paid underground parking is available too. The bed was fine, and the receptionist was prompt and helpful at check-in. But getting to the assigned second-floor room in Building 2 was difficult for us as seniors, especially with no elevator. Going between Building 2 and Building 1 also meant passing through doors that only open with a magnetic key, which was troublesome even if it’s for security. The second room we were assigned on the ground floor of the second building wasn’t better: opening the door, we were met with a strong unpleasant smell. The heater didn’t work, despite the receptionist trying to help. The toilet seat was broken, and the kitchenette utensils badly need replacing. The rooms and building really need an upgrade.

The hotel is in a handy spot, about a 10-15 minute walk from the city center, and the staff are welcoming. Breakfast is very limited. My main problem was the old elevator noise in Building A, where I stayed on the second floor. Each time it stopped, there was a loud clack that carried into the room, especially disruptive at night and early morning. There was also a steady buzzing, though maybe my room was just right beside the elevator. I wouldn’t recommend staying in that part of the hotel, since the noise really affected my comfort.
