Hotel Restaurant l'Orchidée

The restaurant at La Couronne was a highlight: the food was really good and not at all expensive. I loved the Cremant, and recommend trying a local Riesling too. The service was excellent, and we’ll definitely return. The renovated rooms and exterior are beautiful, and it’s a great value for a stay in Alsace. The nearby prison feels a little awkward, though.

The rooms are really comfortable, with a home sweet home feel, and you don’t have to stay at the hotel to have lunch or dinner there. We had a great experience at this 4 stars hotel. The menu was a delight, thanks to a talented Chef and an incredible Chef pâtissier. Thank you so much for such a pleasant stay.

The sauna was clean, modern, and great, and the bed was very comfortable. It’s a genuinely nice little hotel, but I thought it cost far too much for what it was. My girlfriend booked it, and 540 euros for two nights with bed and breakfast didn’t feel like value to me. I think it’s worth around half that.

Breakfast was amazing, and even with a 5 year old along, we all found plenty to enjoy. The ham and cheese omelettes were the best I’ve had, the eggs were great, the bacon crispy and delicious, and the pastries tasty too. At €20, you get what you pay for. The staff were attentive without hovering, and parking was free right next to the hotel. Dogs are welcome as well. The rooms are sublime, beautifully decorated and HUGE, with stunning glass bathrooms. The beds are super comfortable, and air con, tv, mini bar, a coffee machine and fast WiFi add to the luxury. What a beautiful hotel tucked into a little town! It sits beside a prison that used to be where coins were minted, which adds character to the place. There’s also a serene sauna downstairs. For what you get, I think the price is absolutely amazing, and I’d highly recommend a visit.
