The staff were friendly, and the cocktails were very well made. We had a lovely view from our junior suite, and the setting is hard to beat, around a 10-minute walk from town and the sea. We might stay again if we're back in the area, especially if the hotel gets some updates and tighter management, because the property and location have real potential. The rooms are very tired. Ours had no shower, and the water pressure was so weak that filling the bath took over 20 minutes. The walls needed painting, and even with that great view, our windows were dirty. By the pool, we had to go looking for a waiter when we wanted a drink. The staff didn't check in on us, and the ashtrays were full and dirty, as if they hadn't been emptied for days. Little things like that make a difference to how well a hotel is run. We ate at the hotel on Wednesday. There was just one set three-course menu, with a vegetarian option. The meal itself was pleasant, but we'd expect some choice at a hotel restaurant, especially on a stay of more than one night. Wine was outrageously marked up for a country that produces it. It was almost impossible to find a bottle under €100, and the cheapest red Bordeaux was €190. I travel a lot and rarely post reviews unless a place is especially good or especially poor. This fell somewhere in between, though it could be exceptional with some investment and better management.

Dinner was fantastic, easily one of the best three meals I've ever had. It felt worthy of a Michelin star. We finished with coffee and drinks in the little lobby and game area, which was a really nice spot.

We'd booked in January, but only heard about the poolside techno disco two weeks before arriving. There wasn't enough time to find somewhere else locally, and although we were given rooms as far from the noise as possible, the event ran from 7 pm until midnight and was crowded. It meant we barely got to enjoy the pool or its fabulous view during our two-night stay. The hotel is promoted as luxurious and tranquil, so this was a very disappointing experience. We didn't stay for the second night.

The shower was awkward to use, and breakfast could have been better. The croissants and bread weren't crisp, and we'd have preferred a proper espresso to drip coffee. Those were small letdowns in an otherwise gorgeous hotel, with beautiful rooms and facilities and a really relaxing, luxurious feel. The team deserves credit too, the service was excellent. We've stayed in countless hotels, and this is one of the most beautiful we've come across.

The sea and cliff views are stunning, and it's a quick walk into town and down to the beach. I could happily spend all day relaxing by the lounge fireplaces. The property was my favorite place to stay during my travels in France, and Maxime, Leonie, and the rest of the staff were some of the kindest and most helpful I've met. Breakfast had a fantastic selection and the service was great. I could eat the quiche lorraine every day. Dinner at Racines was so stunning that I left a review there too. I can only imagine how lovely it must be in summer. Hope I can come back someday!
