Villa Aitama

We especially love the distinctive artwork in every room. We've stayed in several of these beautifully decorated, well-appointed apartments over the years, and they've all been lovely. They're across the street from the beach, right in the heart of the oyster degustation in Le Canon, Cap Ferret, with parking and easy access to everything. Highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.

It's hard to find places like Villa Aitama, so we'll be back again. We still love it. The building has loads of personality, the rooms are top standard, and the service is professional and serious. The location is spectacular.

The arrival was rough. We had agreed on a 4-6pm check-in, but the door was locked when we got there before 6, nobody answered our calls, and there were no directions. We waited half an hour for another guest to let us in, then found a phone number tucked away in the lobby. Management didn't show up again after check-in, including at Monday's 10am checkout. We only saw the cleaning staff. The music from the nearby restaurant was the other big problem. The hotel warned us about the Festival of Music, though the email made it sound milder than it was. Music “until late” meant bass-heavy EDM until 4am. White noise apps and sleeping in the living room didn't help. The hotel says the restaurant has only an indoor permit, even though it operates outside. If they can't sort it out with the mayor or restaurant, they shouldn't rent rooms on those nights. On other days, restaurant guests woke me at 1am too. Inside, the villa is attractive and thoughtfully decorated, with a modern, fully stocked kitchen. A/C in every room was a lifesaver, though a bit loud. Parking is available but tight, and the bedrooms don't have much room for large suitcases. Checkout came with a long chore list: strip the beds, take out the trash, and clean the floors. I uploaded a photo of the checklist. It felt like a pop quiz. I was ready to give it 2/5, but they refunded us for one night, so I'm raising it to 3/5. Beautiful place, but bring noise-canceling headphones and maybe your own front desk.

A beautiful villa with superb, fully equipped accommodation and a perfect location!
