Cit’Hotel Les Alizes

There’s nothing else around here, and Limoges itself is 5 miles away. Still, this basic hotel is only a 3-minute walk from Limoges airport and the car rental service. The staff are friendly, and the rates are very reasonable. It’s handy for an overnight stop to relax before a flight.

I was cold in my room all night, and no one answered when I called the main line. Another guest and I hadn’t been told that reception would be unattended all night and in the morning. When I left, there was no one to check me out, so I left the key on the reception desk. Be sure to lock your room door at night, because they don’t lock the main entrance. The trouble started before I arrived. I emailed reception two days ahead and got no reply. The evening before, I called to ask whether the restaurant would be open and what it would serve. They told me, “Can’t you find something to eat at Limoges Bénédictins because the chef is too tired and cannot be bothered to cook.” When I arrived, nobody was at reception to meet me or the driver. I waited 5-10 minutes before someone noticed me, and they were incredibly rude. The whole stay, from the start to the very end, was diabolical.

The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the service was pleasant most of the time. Petit dejeuner was very basic for €12. There weren’t any facilities in the room for making refreshments.

We left our car at the hotel for 4 weeks after paying a very reasonable fee. It was safe and still there when we returned. The airport is right next door, but we didn’t hear any planes, so our sleep wasn’t disturbed. Breakfast had a good choice, and the staff were polite and friendly. I’d recommend it.
