Hôtel Ariane

The poor service from one waiter and a receptionist really spoiled this four-day stay at Hotel Ariane, where our large group had come for its annual pilgrimage. We had told the hotel about dietary needs ahead of time, but the vegetarian meals were very limited. My sister got plain pasta with soggy courgettes, or boiled potatoes and carrots, or plain rice with boiled green beans. It felt like little thought went into the meals, and one waiter was consistently unfriendly. She didn’t try to accommodate us or even smile, except when she accidentally spilled water on our table. She didn’t apologize, and nearly hit me with her arm while wiping it up. Mistakes happen, but the lack of effort and responsibility upset our group of about 40. The receptionist seemed nice at first, then became rude. When we asked about the room AC, he muttered something in French and laughed to himself while trying to shut down the question. I also saw that same man drinking behind the bar several times.

We waited an hour for our food, then staff rudely said they couldn’t serve it because they didn’t have enough in stock. The room wasn’t clean, there was no shower gel, and the staff were rude. Not worth it at all, wouldn’t recommend.

I stayed at Ariane Hotel Lourdes with HCPT in 2015. If you’re given room 118, be prepared for a sleepless night: groups from nearby hotels made noise all night. The room itself was clean, and the food was okay, though half the time I couldn’t tell what it was. The man serving us didn’t understand when I asked for more water. On the last day the manager asked if I’d had a nice stay. I said no, and he just walked away. Very rude. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I went with HCPT and they were very accommodating, though the menu wasn’t great for vegetarians.
