Hotel Sainte Suzanne

The young waiters were very friendly, but that was the bright spot in our four-day stay. The meals were mediocre, our room wasn't very clean, and the beds were narrow and uncomfortable. The owner was unfriendly and rarely even said hello. Also, a guest in our group had a new pair of pants stolen from the room. This place doesn't deserve three stars.

We stayed five days and four nights. Our triple room felt like a step back into the 70s, almost like a Spanish TV series set. There was carpeting everywhere, plus curtains, bedspreads, and blankets that looked like they'd seen military use. If dust triggers your allergies, I'd avoid it. The beds were tiny, and the bathroom and towels were old and badly in need of replacement. Lunch and dinner were mostly soup, mediocre, and not a good fit for foodies or people with allergies. The two waiters were the best part: they worked hard and kept smiling. The owner was the worst, rude and stingy, and seemed very focused on money. Be careful paying by card. When we went to pay the tourist tax, she said she didn't have a card reader and then demanded the tax at the last minute. I won't return.

The hotel is well located, but getting in was really difficult. Room wallpaper had an unpleasant smell, and the housekeepers woke us at 8 a.m. to clean, the final straw for me. The manager with glasses was as cold as a rock. The accommodation taxes weren't mentioned on the phone and were added to the bill at the end. I really don't recommend this place.

The food was decent, service was good, and they served water at the table without charge. The staff were friendly and welcoming. But the room didn't have air conditioning, which made it hard to sleep in hot weather.
