Aparthotel Adagio Lyon Patio Confluence

This was my third stay, and I’ll come back next time I’m in Lyon. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the service was warm, friendly, and attentive. The location is wonderful and convenient.

The most disappointing part was how we were treated in the lobby. We bought three coffees at reception to have there, but while we used the self-service machine, a staff member watched us closely and nervously, then made rude comments to show the machines had been cleaned after breakfast. Another guest was rudely told off for sitting at a table set for breakfast the next morning. It left us embarrassed and felt far below a four-star hotel standard. We’ve had much better customer service in three-star aparthotels. The hotel is centrally located in Lyon and has convenient underground parking. But nobody told us about construction when our booking was confirmed or before we arrived. Noisy work started early in the morning right outside our door.

The location is why I keep coming back for a second stay. Perrache station is a five-minute walk, Bellecour and the tourism center are 15-20 minutes away, and there’s a huge Carrefour about ten minutes away. You’ll find all kinds of shops nearby, and trams run through this non-touristy neighborhood. It’s quiet at night, and reception deals with noisy neighbors right away. They’ll clean the room daily for free if you ask, unlike other adagios that charge. Our recent visit had new towels, a good shower, and a heating towel rack that works well. The rooms are clean, but a bit tired, so don’t expect a modern, stylish look. The kitchen area is a standard size. There’s a good exercise room and laundry downstairs. The maintenance man was very kind and helped me amend something I’d bought. I highly recommend the hotel. And while you’re at Bellecour, pick up a beautiful Lyon poster.

The studio units have good equipment, and the reception staff were kind and helpful. It’s a great choice if you want to be near the city center but still have a quiet place to sleep. I’d recommend it and would book here again.
