Residhome Lyon Gerland

The beds were superbly comfortable, and the apartment held up well, though it wasn’t exactly a room at the Ritz. The interior and cleanliness were decent overall, above the 3 stars the hotel shows. The staff were friendly and helpful. Getting access was easy to understand even though I arrived outside reception hours. Some cleaning staff weren’t very comfortable with English, but they were kind and helpful when I asked questions. I even got extra bottles of hair and body soap after a bit of charades. A nice stay in my book.

We booked because of a place we needed to visit, but I’m sorry to say I wouldn’t stay here again. The location is very good, with a bakery across the road, a supermarket nearby, and a 30 minute walk to the Tourist Office at Bellecour Square. The apartment was good compared with the rest of the hotel, and reception staff were efficient and helpful, though reception is only open at specific hours. Parking is a plus, and the surrounding area was quiet and felt safe to walk around. But the entrance, public areas, elevator, carpets, lobby chairs, and walls need attention because they’re unclean. There’s no housekeeping service as advertised, and guests are asked to leave the apartment tidy or pay a charge. Maybe they’re short staffed. In the mornings, laundry and supply carts make the lobby cramped and disorganized.

We found the Appart Hotel a good fit for our stay, with all the kitchen accessories we needed. If you're arriving by car, make sure to reserve a parking space.

Chaima and her colleague were really friendly and quick to help, and the receptionist was super helpful. The room was quiet and clean. A great stop in Lyon for a family trip.
