ibis budget Mâcon Sud

The room and bathroom were simple but clean and perfectly adequate. Reception was friendly, and for France the price was good value. It’s about a 12-minute drive from the town centre. There’s a restaurant on site, though I didn’t try it.

The renovated bedroom and bathroom were modern, and our room was clean. The receptionist was friendly too. But getting our many bags up two flights of stairs was a struggle, since there’s no lift and we didn’t want to leave them in the free car park next door. At least we weren’t on the fourth floor. We saw the renovation work on the way up, and the bathroom layout could use more space. The shower felt cramped, so we kept bumping into the screen and controls, and there was barely room to stand and close the door. We wouldn’t stay again, mainly because of the stairs and all the luggage we have on our long road trip.

The bedding was really good, and the room was clean and ready when we arrived. It’s conveniently close to the highway, and we had an easy, trouble-free stay.

We stayed here on the way from the south of France to Calais. The staff were friendly, breakfast was great, and it was quiet. We were surprised to find the local football team staying there too, and had total respect for them. Thanks, we’ll be back.
