I live in the city, so staying at a hotel here felt a little strange, but RockyPop made it more fun than I expected. It’s near the metro and lots of shops, yet surprisingly quiet. The room was clean and roomy enough, and the bed was comfortable. I also appreciated that they skip those dusty decorative cushions and throws for hygiene reasons. The karaoke rooms were a highlight. If you don’t speak French, they use Karafun, so there’s plenty to sing. I didn’t try the bar, but it looked fun and has retro arcade games. Staff were friendly by French standards, though check-in was a bit clunky. And if you’re an English speaker, the Frenglish puns around the hotel might make you cringe a little. My fellow French trying to sound cool.

The location puts you right in the heart of Marseille, with good shopping nearby, and the secure underground parking was a real plus. Inside, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet, so we slept well. RockyPop Hotel has playful, creative décor and music throughout that gives it a lively but relaxed feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. A fantastic place to stay, highly recommended.

My parents stayed here twice because it’s close to my apartment, and they were really happy with the rooms, service, and atmosphere. The rooms are a decent size, and the whole place has a fun, distinctive feel. Other family visiting will definitely stay here too. Getting around is fairly easy if you’re comfortable walking or using Marseille’s easy-to-navigate public transport. The stadium, a market, shops, and transit are nearby. My husband and I will be back for the rooftop bar.

Castellane metro and tram are just a short walk away, making it easy to reach the city centre or Saint-Charles train station. The hotel itself has a stylish, well-considered design and a fun, modern feel. There’s a gym, arcade games, ping pong, and a karaoke room. The rooftop terrace was a highlight and a great place to hang out.
