The rooms felt dated and pretty bare, with no real coziness. You get the basics, but it didn’t feel like good value for the price. Breakfast was okay.

The best thing is the location, a quiet spot in the city center. But we had a difficult stay. We were there for 6 days and were told we’d have to pay extra for clean towels and room cleaning because our stay was under a week. I’d never come across that in a hotel. The TV was tucked behind the bed, so we had to sit on chairs to watch it, and although the bathroom was spacious, there was nowhere to put toiletries. Staff were rarely around when we left early and came back late. The parking was full, so we had to leave the car outside by the swimming pool and walk over in the rain throughout our stay.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and it’s an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Our room was large, modern and in good shape, with a roomy bathroom and a nice shower. There was enough space to cook for ourselves using the microwave. For this kind of accommodation, though, I’d have liked more sockets in easier-to-reach places. Breakfast was good, but the selection was limited and the price felt high. I guess keeping everything in stock costs money, though there seem to be better options nearby. Finding the place and parking were awkward, unless you pay for their parking, which isn’t cheap. Parking in Metz generally isn’t cheap either.

Getting to the center is easy enough, under a 10-minute walk, and the location is nice. The rooms vary quite a bit but are generally okay. There’s barely any wardrobe space because heating pipes run through it. The staff are kind, but they don’t speak English, and it seemed like only one employee was managing things. Breakfast was the worst part: extremely basic. Customer service was also inflexible about changes to dates or arrival times. My flight was overbooked, so I arrived the next morning, but they still made me pay for that extra day despite my booking being for over a month. Then I had to leave 7 days early because of an emergency. They refused to cancel any of those days and told me I’d get a refund for the unused nights, but they didn’t follow through and charged the full amount. I wouldn’t recommend it.
