The summer choices felt too heavy for me. I would’ve liked some lighter, fresher options. Portions are generous, though, which may suit people with bigger appetites. The menu only comes as two or three courses, and it would be good to let people order just an entree or main dish, since some of us have smaller appetites. Service was very casual and average for this sort of place. A more cheerful attitude would’ve made it nicer. Sadly, non-residents aren’t allowed to walk in the garden.

The restaurant was a real highlight. The chef makes beautiful, delicious food, the service is warm and charming, and there’s a great wine list. The staff make you feel welcome, and the park-like grounds add to the feeling of peace and escape. A lovely boutique tucked into a quiet corner of Montpellier. Such a gem!

Sol is what made our stay at Mas de Lafeuillade feel so welcoming. She took wonderful care of us at breakfast and kindly shared tips for making the most of Montpellier. The stylish 20th-century furnishings have real pizzazz, and the bed was very comfortable. My partner and I had a lovely two-night stay. As others have said, there’s no overnight staff and the rooms are a little kooky. It feels more like staying in a fabulously stylish friend’s house while they’re away than in a regular hotel. Without Sol, the beautiful setting might feel disorienting, but she turns it into a real delight. We’d stay again.

The rooms are pretty, and it feels like you’re mainly paying for the interior design. But for the price, the rest didn’t live up to the presentation. When we visited in August, there was no garden access, reliable reception, or restaurant, and the cleanliness and room amenities were poor. It’s also in a part of town that’s hard to reach from the centre without a car.

Sol was especially lovely. She served us a beautiful breakfast and gave us great tips for what to do in Montpellier. We stayed two nights at this beautiful hotel and the service was excellent. We’ll be back :)
