Residhome Nantes Berges de la Loire

The location worked well for us, the AC worked, and water was provided. The tall lady at reception was smiling, friendly, and had positive body language. The bed made it hard to sleep. Its weak frame moved easily, and the mattress was two sections joined by a zip down the middle, like an open book. The surface sloped toward the center instead of lying flat. At 8 am the morning after check-in, someone knocked, opened our door, and said “Bonjour.” Nobody came by or called later to apologize. I later read on the mirror that the hotel saves water as part of its sustainability efforts, which is great, but the shower pressure was poor. There’s newer technology that gives a sprinkling effect without feeling so low pressure. The bathroom door squeaked and needs lubrication. Getting in through the main entrance gate is also awkward, since you have to go to reception for a password. Is it 2025 or the 1990s? The hairdryer in the room feels just as outdated and needs an upgrade.

On arrival I wasn’t sure about the area, as it looked dead, but the public gardens and city centre were only a short walk away. The rooms were spacious, service was pleasant, and parking was available on site.

The area has a relaxed, friendly feel, and the welcome we got was exceptionally warm. I spent one night here and couldn’t have asked for a better hotel or location. The room was small but cleverly laid out, spotless, and had a great view. Breakfast was simple and tasty. I had a good stay and would recommend it.

The room was clean and the building looked modern, but the lack of space made the stay uncomfortable. There was hardly room to move, and both the shower and toilet were so cramped that using them was awkward, with our legs hitting the wall at the toilet. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. We also had a poor experience with the staff. They didn’t address our concerns, and when we asked for extra towels, the response felt dismissive and the wait was long. For the price, there are better options around Nantes with more space and comfort. We wouldn’t recommend Appart Hôtel - Residhome Nantes Berges de la Loire for a relaxing stay.
