My basement room didn't have a pretty view, but it was great value for the quality of the room. I didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant because Nice had too many places to choose from. The staff were friendly and accommodating to English speakers, and the rooms were very clean and well kept. I had an amazing stay.
The room had a charming, romantic feel, and the staff were friendly. We arrived really early, but they managed to get our room ready so we could check in. Breakfast was good, and the woman running it was very nice. The price was great and the location is close to the beach. There’s no elevator, which was disappointing, but not a deal breaker.
I was booked into a basement room, even though I had reserved a Traditional Double/Twin Room. The hotel’s own website, booking platforms, and the pricing sign outside all showed that the basement was a clearly cheaper option. When I challenged it, staff insisted it was the correct room despite the evidence. It felt like gaslighting. They offered no refund or compensation, only said the hotel was full. This left a bad impression and tainted the whole stay. Be careful, they may downgrade you and still charge full price.
Good value for the price. Hôtel Villa Rivoli is close to the beach and centre-ville, with quick access to the train that goes to the airport. The staff were very kind and made the stay great. The room was good, but I missed having a frigobar to keep drinks cold in Nice’s super hot weather.
The room’s AC was a huge plus, and the bathroom was spacious with great water pressure. This lovely hotel is right in central Nice and very well located, about 5 minutes from Plage Negresco and 25 minutes from Cours Saleya.
