Relais Acropolis

We chose this hotel because it had a lift, but it didn’t make getting to the room easy. There’s a flight of stairs before you reach the lift, and the lift stops between floors, so you still have to use stairs to get from it to your room. That defeats the point of choosing it for easier access. The room was okay, though dark and very old. It could use a deep clean and a refresh. The towels seemed clean, but were worn and frayed along every edge. Fine for one night, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer.

Mold was present in every one of the five rooms we stayed in. I don’t recommend this hotel. Don’t trust the photos on the hotel’s website or booking platforms like Booking.com. The rooms look decent in the pictures, but in person they were a nightmare. Everything was painted blue, which made the place feel more like a prison or hospital than a hotel. I heard many complaints from tourists, but the hotel refused to compensate even part of the payment for such terrible service. I felt I had no choice but to tell the truth here.

The location was the best part of our stay in Nice. We could walk to the old town in about 10 minutes, and the trams stop right nearby. The staff were very good, hospitable, and spoke English. The hotel was generally clean. My wife and I found the room, especially the bathroom, somewhat small, though we got used to it after a while. Breakfast was good quality, with options to suit different tastes.

The staff were friendly and helpful, though the small reception desk meant we saw different people every few hours. The location was okay. At first, Old Town seemed far away, but I got used to the walk, which took 10 minutes or a bit more. I needed to rest on the way. There are handy shops nearby, including fruit stores and Carrefour. Cleanliness could be better. While massaging my foot with a tennis ball near the wall mirror, I found it covered in hair from previous guests. They should vacuum more carefully. The carpet is very old and needs replacing. There was no electric kettle or fridge in the room.
