I chose this hotel for the air con and the easy access to Notre Dame and the Batobus. Notre Dame is so close you can almost touch it from the room, and in the evening it’s lovely to sit on the balcony and hear the cathedral bells. I’ll be coming back every time I visit Paris, and highly recommend it. The continental breakfast was lovely, as you’d expect of French food. The hotel is on a quiet side street, so it’s relatively peaceful, but you’re still in the middle of a city. Parisian police cars do drive around with sirens blaring, so I highly advise ear plugs. The rooms are small, as you’d expect in Central Paris, but have everything you need. I stayed alone in a double room during a family city break and it was perfect for me. One small thing to know: in my room, the toilet was off to the side behind opaque glass, so it didn’t feel very private. It’s not a big deal, though.
This is a very charming 3 star hotel. It was clean and all the facilities worked well. Reception is open 24/7, the staff are very friendly and speak English, and the location is great. I’d stay here again.
It was okay for the price, but I didn’t find it very clear what you’re getting for your money. The room had no window treatment, so the sun came in early, and the shower was entirely handheld. Some rooms can only be reached by narrow stairs.
The hotel’s main selling point is its location. It’s an ideal base for exploring Paris on foot or along the river Seine. Notre Dame Cathedral is within a 5 min walk, and the Eiffel tower is less than 5 km away. You’re in the centre of the Latin quarter, surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars. The rooms don’t have much going for them. They’re small and very basic, with little room to move around the bed. The shower and toilet are so close together that you need to sing loudly while your partner is using it.
You’re paying a lot for the location here, with Notre Dame very close, the Pantheon nearby, and the Louvre reachable on foot or by metro. There’s also a metro station, plenty of restaurants, and a boulangerie about 200 metres away. The staff were friendly and spoke enough English. The room was small, which is normal for Paris, but it wasn’t properly cleaned when we arrived: dust and rubbish were on the floor. The mattresses were in poor shape, which made me wonder about bugs, though we didn’t see any or get bitten. The bathroom setup wasn’t great either. The toilet door offers little privacy, and showering in the bathtub sent water everywhere. Breakfast was poor for the price, so I’d eat at a nearby boulangerie instead. Street-facing rooms get noise from the restaurant next door, though I slept fine with earplugs. The corridors are very narrow, and in a mostly wooden building the fire safety arrangements didn’t feel reassuring. This hotel was expensive for what it offers, so keep that in mind.
