Drawing House

The hotel and room were very clean, the reception team were friendly, and the wellness room was great. It’s also a convenient base for getting into central Paris and exploring. I booked the stay for my boyfriend’s birthday and mentioned it when I made the booking, so I’d hoped for a note or some small surprise, but there was nothing. The room felt a little basic too, with a limited food and hot drink selection and not much of a view. Still, it’s a lovely place and we had a nice stay.

The thoughtful details made our nine days at Drawing House especially relaxing: music in the shared spaces, a clever soap grinder in the restroom, and a nice tea selection. After walking 20,000 steps through the Paris summer, it was lovely to come back to a freshly made room. Our cleaner was incredibly thorough, and even on the day we forgot to ask for housekeeping, she seemed to anticipate what we needed and took care of it. Merci beaucoup! The room was spacious, which was a real treat. We think it may have been designed for accessibility, though we can’t say for sure. The staff were among the kindest we’ve met, warm and welcoming, and they gave us complimentary early check-in after our long journey from Australia. The hotel is conveniently located near the Gaîté stop. We’d happily recommend the hotel and the people who make it feel like home. One thing management could add is basic cutlery and a fridge in the rooms, especially in a city so known for its food.

A five day Metro pass made the location manageable, though it’s a little out of the way for sightseeing. The room was pleasant enough, but the pillows were really flat, and there wasn’t much drawer space or a fridge. I also didn’t like the separate tiny toilet nook. It’s a sensible idea, just very cramped.

Check-in was easy and the customer service was good. A very nice boutique hotel, with rooms of a decent size and the things you need, from a coffee machine to bottled water. The restaurant was very good too.
