Eiffel Villa Garibaldi

It was quiet in the evenings, yet centrally located and well connected, with reasonable prices for Paris. Anna at reception was especially friendly and helpful. She gave us good suggestions for places to visit and made us feel genuinely welcome. I’d definitely stay here again.

Really good location and a great hotel for a reasonable price. One small suggestion: maybe check the ventilation. From the 6th floor, we could smell fresh croissants from about 6AM, probably from breakfast being prepared in the kitchen. It’s a lovely smell to wake up to, just a bit early ;-) Otherwise, everything was really good!

Reception staff were very nice, and we were happy with the stay overall. I’d recommend the hotel, though I’d love to see some shelves or racks added for clothes and toiletries. Our room was extremely small, with just one little suitcase stand, no hooks for jackets, nowhere for clothes or bathroom items, and we had to shift the desk and chair just to get around the bed. The neighborhood felt calm and safe to walk in at night. In about 3-5 minutes you can reach a square with restaurants, cafés, a small grocery shop, and taxis. We couldn’t see the Eiffel Tower from our window, though perhaps one room has a partial view. It was still fairly close, around a 20-minute walk. At checkout, the receptionist said the protest meant we’d need to book a taxi to the airport because we wouldn’t find one and might struggle to get to the metro. We went for a walk and asked locals, who said getting to the airport shouldn’t be a problem, and taxis were waiting on every corner. I suspect the hotel may have an arrangement with taxi drivers, since pre-booking a taxi in Paris costs extra, and that’s why he offered one and wasn’t entirely honest.

The staff were really friendly, and the hotel is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, lovely cafés and restaurants, and the Metro. It’s clean and tidy, with good Wi-Fi and decent tea and coffee facilities in the room. There’s a small lift, or plenty of stairs if you want the workout. The main downside was the tiny shower cubicles. I’m an average-sized woman, 5ft 2, and could barely squeeze in. My husband would have struggled to wash in there. Still, it made a great base for a short girls’ weekend in Paris.
