Hotel d'Aubusson

The hotel has great amenities, but the room didn’t meet what I’d expect from a 5-star stay. The bathroom sink stopper didn’t work properly, and the A/C beside the bed made a loud groaning sound every minute on the dot. I brought both issues to the staff’s attention, but they weren’t resolved.

We spent the week in the busy heart of the 6th district, yet the hotel itself was peaceful. The Louvre, the Orsay, and Luxembourg gardens were about a 15-minute walk away, and there were lots of good restaurants in and around the district to choose from. Our loft had two bedrooms and was just right for three of us. My daughter liked her little twin bed in the alcove, and I used the day bed downstairs in the common area. As with everything in Paris, the room was compact, but it was efficient and had what we needed. The staff were terrific throughout. Kamal at the bar made fantastic cocktails, and Lakshman & Reschad at the door and lobby were always warm, gracious, and helpful. The front desk and concierge were professional, kind, and courteous all week. Housekeeping kept the room immaculate and left thoughtful turndown touches, like chocolates or fruit. One of the rare perfect hotel stays for us. I’d recommend it to couples or small families, and would give it 6 stars if I could. One of our best stays in Europe.

We had a duplex on the 5th floor, room 50x, with the bed upstairs and bathroom and seating area below. It was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel also has a pool, gym, sauna, and steam room, and serves a high-quality, nutritious breakfast. Live jazz plays every night, and guests staying a certain number of nights get tickets to some museums and events. The service was fantastic throughout. It's an exceptional place in the heart of St Germain, and I'll return.

We’ve stayed here regularly for years, and Hôtel d'Aubusson remains our favourite Parisien hotel. It’s right in the heart of St Germain, with great restaurants, bars, and cafés all within walking distance. The rooms are spotless and beautiful, and the hotel has a superb swimming pool, intimate, charming lounges, and a great Jazz bar. It has real charm and excellent service, and feels more like a cosy private home than a hotel. It’s always a pleasure to come back.
