The front desk team were pleasant and helpful, especially Gael, who we spoke with most. We enjoyed the stay and paid about €200 a night for a room in February, which felt fair. I wouldn’t want to pay much more if I came back. We booked a Superior room, but I’m not sure what the upgrade over a classic room was. If it was the size, I can’t imagine how tiny a standard room must be. Ours did have a nice closet and dresser. Both the room and bed were on the small side, though we slept comfortably, and I can see the bed being a problem for taller people. The tub is so high that getting in and out feels awkward. I tripped and nearly fell the first time. The handheld shower hose was okay, but it could use a fixed shower head on the wall or ceiling too. It took me a little while to adjust to the tiny lift, small common areas and generally compact rooms, since I’m used to more traditional or modern boutique hotels. The place does have charm and character, but those come with tradeoffs. It was a good experience overall, just a different kind of hotel, so keep your expectations in check.

The bed in our room could have been more comfortable. Apart from that, everything was perfect. The hotel has lots of character, sits in the heart of the Marais, and is an easy walk from central Paris. There’s also a Metro station nearby. The service was friendly and efficient, and breakfast was fantastic.

We needed somewhere clean and welcoming in a hurry after leaving a terrible apartment, and the reception staff were so kind and helpful. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the location in Paris’s Le Marais district is great. A really good 3-star hotel that I’d recommend.

I’ve stayed here for years and still like both the hotel and its staff. On my latest visit, though, the TV was out for several days and only got fixed on the last day. The tub stopper was stuck too, and that took two days to sort out. There wasn’t any discount offered for the inconvenience. As a business person, I’d have knocked a few euros off to show appreciation for a returning customer. I’m still willing to come back, but hope things go more smoothly next time.

Everyone we met at the hotel was extremely kind and helpful, and we loved our nine days in Paris. The building is ancient but very well cared for, and the location is ideal. Our beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and spotless, and the room was serviced exceptionally well each day. In December, though, our room, 403, was often extremely hot, even with the radiator completely off. I’d hesitate to return because there was no way to control the room temperature. We also reported that the bathtub drain plug was broken, so we couldn’t take a bath, but nobody fixed it.
