Hotel Des Comedies

Diana was amazing, so friendly and helpful. The hotel is right in the center, too. I couldn’t have been happier with my stay, and we’d love to come back here next time we’re in Paris.

I’d happily stay at Hotel des Comédies again. My room was clean, good-looking and comfortable, especially the mattress, and the staff were kind and particularly helpful. There’s breakfast at the hotel, plus a few popular places to eat nearby. The location worked well for the places I wanted to visit, whether I took a short ride or walked.

The location was a real plus, with major sights not too far away, and the lobby, though small, was beautifully done and welcoming. Staff were friendly, especially Mr.Henry at the reception. Breakfast was decent but basic, much like at many hotels in France. For vegetarians there was bread, yogurt, jam and a couple of fruits such as apples or bananas. The croissants were good. I was there on a family holiday with a child and senior parents last month. The lift, rooms and bathrooms all felt small, construction was underway during our visit, and the hotel was expensive.

The comfortable beds and soft, cozy linens were a welcome part of our stay, and Aurelie at the front desk was fantastic. The rest of the staff were friendly and welcoming too. We also liked the French breakfast. There wasn’t a huge selection, but it was enough to fill us up, and the pastries were especially good. We stayed in a three-bedroom room on the fourth floor. The hotel has lovely decor and a cozy, small-scale feel, and it’s conveniently close to Bonne Nouvelle metro station. Still, the maintenance problems were disappointing. The carpet and curtains had visible stains, the shower head was broken and sprayed water around, and the shower door leaked across the bathroom. We used all the towels to mop it up, so we couldn’t reuse them the next day even though we try to limit towel use for the environment. The toilet seat and lid were broken as well, and the air vents badly needed cleaning. We told the staff on our first day, but nothing was done while we were there. With those problems, the price felt a little high.
