The location was great for the price: close to the Arc De Triomphe and metro, with cafes, restaurants, and small markets just a minute away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But the street was busy and noisy 24/7, and all the rooms seemed to face it. There are plenty of hotel options on side roads that should be quieter. The elevator wasn’t working, so we had to walk up to the 5th floor. The cleaners used something very strongly perfumed in our room on the 5th floor and our friends’ room on the 1st. The smell was overwhelming, so we kept the windows open all night, and we all got headaches. We paid extra for a premium room, but the shower was missing the floor trim that keeps water in, so the whole floor got wet. We had to block the water with towels. Between the perfume and the street noise, I wouldn’t book here again.

The rooms were spotless and we received a warm welcome. The hotel is in an excellent location, with lots of shops nearby, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend it.

The deposit was returned to us easily in cash, and everything was as it should be. The staff at Riviera Hotel were kind and friendly, and the location was really good. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back on another Paris trip.

I'm writing this second review on my third night here, and STILL NO HOT WATER FOR THE THIRD DAY!!!! I told the administrators many times, but they did nothing. Their response was, “I know, but there is nothing I can do…”. It’s a really awful hotel. The rooms are very cold and noisy, the facilities are very small, and there’s no kettle, cups, or glasses in the room.

The deep tub was a plus, though the shower head didn’t have much pressure. Our triple room was simply one room with three single beds and a bathroom. The elevator is the size of a broom closet, and the stairs spiral all the way up, so I wouldn’t bring a big suitcase. You have to leave your key with them whenever you go out, which was okay. The AC was the only thing that really annoyed me because it ran loudly. If you’re happy with a simple place and plan to spend lots of time out exploring Paris, this is a good hotel. We had a good stay.
