Hotel Square Louvois

The location made it easy to walk to The Louvre and nearby metro stations. The afternoon hot drinks and cake were especially welcome on cold days, and you can book the pool for a private swim. We also got a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates on arrival, plus a couple of little treats during our stay. It’s a really nice hotel with lovely rooms, and everyone from Reception to Housekeeping was fantastic. I like a very firm mattress, so this one felt a little too soft for me. Apart from that, I can’t fault the place.

We tried the complimentary afternoon tea during a rainy break from walking. It was tea or coffee with a few kinds of pound cake. We skipped breakfast because we wanted to try local cafes, and although we brought swimsuits, we never made it to the pool because we were out late every day. I also loved the dining room’s water and seltzer fountain, coffee machine with syrups, and the nice tea selection. Bring a water bottle for the seltzer. The tap water tastes great too. My friends and I came from the US for Thanksgiving. I’d first looked for somewhere in Marais, but in June I couldn’t find an available hotel in our budget for a November trip. I widened the search toward the more touristic areas and found this boutique hotel off a quiet square. We hadn’t stayed in the area before, but it turned out to be handy for the metro, buses, and RER, with shopping, interesting restaurants, and bakeries nearby. Palais Royale, Louvre, Galeries LaFayette, and Forum Les Halles were all within walking distance. It’s in the Japanese quarter of the Bourse area. The three of us booked separate rooms and got different layouts. Mine had a great walk in rain shower, one friend’s had a rain shower and tub together, and the other had a separate tub and shower. My room was the smallest, but still a third bigger than any other boutique hotel room I’ve had in Paris. It was next to the elevator, yet I didn’t hear a thing. Nightly turndown included chocolate on the pillow, and the Fragonard amenities smelled great, especially the figue scent. The staff were courteous and efficient. This might be my new favorite hotel in Paris.

We loved the quiet feel of afternoon tea after a long day sightseeing. The pool downstairs was nice too. This little boutique hotel had clean, pleasant rooms, though they were a bit small. Highly recommend it.

We especially liked having a bathtub in the room, which my wife appreciated, and the included breakfast was very good. One evening we unwound at the pool after a long day. The rooms were nice, and the hotel’s location put us close to lots of attractions. We had a great experience staying here.
