Maison Boheme

My little studio was far more spacious than I expected from the website photos, charming and comfortable too. The kitchen is cleverly tucked away, and both the bathroom and WC were excellent. I had a very nice stay at Maison La Boheme, but there are some things to know before booking. It’s an aparthotel, so there’s no front desk or in-person front office staff to ask for help. There is a concierge available by email or phone, and she’s wonderful. It feels more like staying in an apartment than a hotel, which might be just what you want. I was on the top of three floors, with no lift, and had 35 steps up to my room. Getting back after a day out also means climbing a lot of stairs if you’ve gone down the hill. If the big stairways feel like too much, the funiculare by Sacré-Cœur is well worth taking. The entrance is about 20 meters down a small, hidden alley-street. Enter the code at the keypad and you’re suddenly away from the chaos of Place Du Tertre, where Maison La Boheme is actually located. It’s an intensely touristy area, with Sacré-Cœur another very touristy spot just 100 meters away. In daytime, it’s a madhouse, but inside the room you’re completely removed from it. Early mornings and late evenings feel magical. It’s a wonderful place to consider if you’re happy with a stay that’s different from a standard hotel.

The location was incredible, and our room was a spectacular little retreat from all the activity outside. We stayed five nights and were upgraded to the Monet room. Everything about it was just right. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

The rooms and location are the best, easily 10/10, and I’d highly recommend the hotel. But a club next door played loud Techno from 23.00 until 5.30am, so I got no sleep for four nights and ended up sleeping until 13.00 each morning to make up for it. Bring earplugs. I love music, but I found the Techno awful!! The hotel said they’re looking for a solution, and I hope they find one. I wish them luck. I didn’t see this mentioned in earlier reviews, so I assume the club has only open.

The luggage storage made both check-in and check-out easy and stress-free, and the location puts you right in the heart of Montmartre. Our apartment at Maison La Bohème Montmartre was spotless, nicely decorated, and comfortable throughout. I’d absolutely recommend it and would love to return ✨
