The location was fine, but the rooms and service left me hoping things have changed since our stay. My son and I got extremely sick afterward, and no one apologized or made any adjustment for the room problems the next day. Our first night was decent. The room was small, as I expected for a quick Paris trip, and we had a good view of city life from the window. After an outing the next day, we came back to find the door latch broken. I told reception, who said someone would come fix it. The door had been fine before, so I checked my things to make sure nothing had been taken. We waited for hours while being told the repair person was on the way. A front desk staff member came up and said we could be locked inside, but someone could open the door from outside. I had to leave it cracked open until the repair was done. At 10 pm, I asked when the man was coming and was told he probably wasn't coming, but we could sleep there and no one would come in. That felt dangerous. I asked for another room or a refund so I could find somewhere else. They gave us a smaller, run-down room instead. I didn't sleep at all that night.

I took off a point because the shower had neither a door nor a curtain. The bathroom was small but usable, yet every shower flooded it no matter how I aimed the showerhead. Otherwise, this was an affordable hotel within walking distance of Gare du Nord, with everything I was looking for, including a reasonably priced breakfast option. The desk clerks were very polite.

Less than a five-minute walk from Gare du Nord, the hotel is tucked on a side street, so it stays very quiet. The room was small but spotlessly clean, and the service was great. Breakfast was a lovely surprise. There wasn't a hair dryer in the room, though, which was a bit of a problem. What a lovely little hotel!

The 24-hour reception was a nice feature, and the hotel is a few minutes' walk from Gare du Nord, close enough to be convenient but not right beside it. For a cheap two-star hotel, the rooms were fine, and everything was very clean. Breakfast was fine too. The small room made having the sink and shower together a bit awkward. We also got unlucky one day when we were asked to leave the breakfast room a few minutes after 10. Clearing away the buffet at closing time is completely fair, but I think guests should be able to sit there another 20-30 minutes.

They cancelled my reservation, made six months ahead, a week before check-in, claiming by email that my credit card wasn't working. I've never had trouble with that card. They wouldn't accept any kind of solution.
