Hôtel Résidence Châtillon

The rooms were awful, the staff rude, and the location bad. Don’t come here, especially if you run into the older French man, who was the rudest of them all.

Recidance Chatillon 14 exceeded my expectations. The rooms were stylish and spotless, and the staff were genuinely warm and professional. It felt like the details had been carefully chosen for comfort and elegance. The location is perfect, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for convenience and real hospitality.

We arrived at midnight, as we had said we would, but the receptionist looked at us as if to ask what we were doing there. He spoke only French, and we didn’t speak French. The rooms weren’t very clean, and only two of around eight light bulbs worked. Towel service was hit or miss: sometimes we got clean ones, sometimes not. Once I had to ask reception for them. Shampoo was also inconsistent, missing once and over-supplied another time. We spotted blood-sucking bugs, though I’m not sure what kind they were. The price was the only positive, and even that wasn’t enough to make this place worth choosing.

I strongly recommend against staying here. We had a flight issue and called before check-in time to ask about cancelling the reservation, but they wouldn’t let us cancel. We had booked four nights and couldn’t make it to the hotel at all, yet Residence Châtillon charged us the full amount. The manager told me over the phone that they don’t give refunds, even though I cancelled before check-in and didn’t spend a single night there. It was the most ridiculous travel experience I’ve ever had, and a real shame.
