Hotel De France

The room was small, the carpet wasn't very clean, and there was no air conditioning. There also isn't a night bus back from mont Saint Michel. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. They kept pushing breakfast, claiming there was nowhere else open in the morning to get coffee, but that just wasn't true. There are plenty of bars and bakeries around the corner. I booked online, but when I arrived to check in they couldn't find my reservation and charged me again, saying the ebooking website was fraudulent. I had to call the site's customer care myself to sort it out. When I returned to reception, they said they'd found the booking after all, but didn't even bother to let me know.

Getting to the room was a hassle since nobody was at the counter to welcome me, and I had to go to another building to check in. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned for days, with dust even on the bed. The shower area was tiny and its door was broken. The location was good, though, very close to Mont saint micheal. Terrible experience.

The accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable, and breakfast is good. They really need another coffee machine, though. When there's a bus tour staying at the hotel, the coffee line is disgusting.

The hotel seemed abandoned and poorly maintained, and it wasn't clean. I couldn't open the window, and the room door was very difficult to open and close. Reception staff were rude. A horrible experience!
