BOMA easy living hotel By Stay Collection

We had a great Simmons mattress and a good-sized bathroom with a heated towel rack. The room itself was large, with an enclosed entry area separating the closet and bathroom from the bedroom. That gave us space to open one of our two big suitcases in the entry area while using the other in the bedroom. The TV was large, worked well, and had lots of current movies on demand in 4K at no extra charge. It even had adult X movies, if that's your thing. There was also secure coded luggage storage in several sizes, which came in handy when we arrived before the room was ready. The view was poor for the rate: we were on the second floor looking onto a large outdoor area at window level where people could walk past, with windows to several other rooms in view and a big ventilation and heating shaft right in front of ours. The two pillow sizes weren't very supportive, even though I liked the mattress, and there was no minibar fridge. One personal gripe: there's a tall mirror behind the door between the entry and bedroom, facing the bed. I know rooms need a mirror, but I don't like seeing my reflection or movement from the foot of the bed. Maybe that's my Asian Feng Shui talking. The location is excellent, on an easy-to-find corner of Rue de 22 Novembre, on the main road near lots of shops and restaurants. If you're coming from the train station on foot, leave through the central middle wing for an easier walk to Boma. I'd also recommend the Meteor Restaurant diagonally across from the hotel.

The parking arrangement was misleading. Although parking is advertised, during Christmas market season it isn't accessible, so guests have to use another facility nearly 1 km away and pay €25 per day. The breakfast was underwhelming too, neither generous nor memorable for a hotel charging these rates. At €450 a night, the price felt astronomical for the quality. The room was only 16 m² and felt cramped, with little comfort or value for money. Boma Easy Living didn't live up to its price or promises, and we left dissatisfied. I wouldn't recommend it unless its prices and services were adjusted significantly to reflect what it offers.

Street noise was quite noticeable, though the hotel is good and centrally located. I was happy with the price, especially with the extra discount for booking through the hotel's own site. The room amenities were nice: a bathtub, free minibar, coffee machine, and kettle. There's also a small gym in the basement. Breakfast at €20 seemed a bit overpriced. A smaller, cheaper choice would have been welcome for people who don't want a huge buffet.

David at reception was a delight and clearly knows hospitality. The staff and location were great, and I'd stay again in Strasbourg. Our TV kept switching off every 3-5 minutes. Other reviews made it seem like an ongoing problem. Guest Services said they didn't know about it and suggested unplugging the TV and plugging it back in. That seemed to fix it once, but by the next morning it was doing the same thing again.
