O-lit

The room I booked for 8-11/9 had no electricity. I realized this after checking in and tried again and again to reach them by phone and message, but got no response. I had to find and pay for another hotel for the night. The next day, when I finally got through, they said they'd find an electrician. Instead, later that afternoon they told me they'd cancel the room and refund all my money. I returned the keys that day and had to look for another hotel. The days went by and I still haven't received the refund, even though I have messages proving they said they'd return my money. Stay away.

At Residence O'Lit Cathedrale, parts of the building are covered with spikes and netting to keep pigeons away. But birds get caught in the net and die slowly. It was full of bones and dead birds, and the smell of rotting flesh was especially bad in summer. A pigeon trapped right by our window struggled all night, flapping and crying out, and kept us awake. We tried to free it but couldn't reach it. We contacted the hotel staff through several channels and got no response. This was a horrifying stay and terrible animal cruelty. Please remove the net. Disgusting and disturbing.

We stayed for two nights. Before leaving, we put everything back as it had been and left no mess, so I expected the refundable deposit to come back within a few days. It never did. I wrote to them several times, but after three months there was still no response. That was a sharp change from before, when they replied within minutes. Before arriving, I'd received two different emails with information, which confused me. They had also taken money from my account and I didn't know why, so I contacted them on WhatsApp. They replied within minutes and explained it was just a refundable deposit. I regret the experience. I'd like to come back and recommend the accommodation to friends, but I can't support someone who takes money from a student trying to travel cheaply. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE A REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT!

The room was so cramped there wasn’t even space to open a suitcase, and it felt stuffy despite the small windows and winter weather. The bathroom smelled like a sewer, there were no slippers, and there was no hot water. The heating didn’t work either, so bathing in winter was really cold. The hair dryer was broken. The electronic lock opened and locked by itself and lit up on its own, which was frightening in the middle of the night. The stairs were narrow, there was no elevator, and hauling luggage to an upper floor felt tiring and unsafe. This was literally the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in.
