It was wonderfully quiet, with a spacious room looking out at the mountains and a heated pool. The welcome was very warm, and the amenities were excellent. A great place to stay before crossing into Italy or before or after hiking in the Valley of Wonders.
The owners are getting on in years, so there’s no restaurant or breakfast at Le Mouton Dort. You’ll need to have breakfast at the village hotel, but that was fine with me. I loved my weekend here and highly recommend it. The rooms and terraces are charming, with mountain views from this exceptional spot perched high above. If you want peace and quiet, it’s a complete change of scenery.
The owner was very kind and let us stay even though we arrived early. The rooms are spacious and detailed, and there’s a pool. Such a beautiful, peaceful place. Definitely worth coming back.

We were looking for a hotel in Tende and spotted a sign, but after a tricky drive to get there, someone told us it was closed. There was no sign saying so. Great.
