Chateau Belmont Tours by The Crest Collection (ex. Clarion Hotel Château Belmont Tours)

The sauna wasn’t working, and getting robes for the spa was a hassle. Reception said there weren’t any, though I eventually found some with the cleaning staff. Not having robes on Saturday evening and again Sunday afternoon felt odd for a hotel with a spa, and it took away from the stay a little. The room itself was spacious and lovely, with a balcony. Breakfast was delicious and had lots to choose from, and the evening menu was quite sophisticated.

I wish we’d had another night to unwind. The hotel grounds were lovely for a short walk, and it was nice being able to leave the windows cracked at night for fresh air because the property was so quiet. In the morning we could hear other guests or staff from inside our room, but it wasn’t too bothersome. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were attentive and helpful. We had dinner there, which was very nice, and breakfast had plenty of bread, cheese, fruit, and coffee. The brioche was my favorite. The pool felt a little chilly and there wasn’t a hot tub, so we didn’t spend long at the spa. The bathrobes and slippers were a nice help since we hadn’t packed those. We stayed at Chateau Belmont on the final day of our trip around France, and it was easily the best hotel of the trip.

We had a spacious room in the newer part of the hotel, with a fantastic view, and the walk into town was manageable with sights and activities nearby. It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood, which was a welcome break after London and Paris. We came by train from Paris and would suggest taking a taxi or Uber, since walking from a trolley stop means going uphill. Reception is open around the clock and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the service was great. We didn’t visit the spa, but you can use its amenities if you go to the gym. The gym is small, though it does the job. We loved staying here.

The room could have been kept up better. It wasn’t quite clean, there were spots on the carpet, and the heating didn’t work very well. Still, we loved the atmosphere and the pleasant dinner at the restaurant, and the team gave us lovely service. It’s a charming mix of an old chateau and modern amenities.
