Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

I waited over 30 minutes at a table in the Hilton bar without a server taking my order or even acknowledging me, so I eventually went to the bar myself to get service. Nobody checked on the table, and it felt as though guests in that area were being ignored. For a hotel of this level, the lack of basic attention was surprising and made for a frustrating start to what should have been a relaxing airport stay. I hope the hotel reviews its bar service, since more proactive attention would make a big difference.

The front desk staff were friendly and easy to talk to, and I had no particular complaints about the reasonably clean room. Breakfast was Hilton standard, perfectly decent. I didn’t use the Executive Lounge because I spent most of my time sightseeing in central Paris. For an airport hotel, the spacious entrance and calm, fairly elegant feel made for a pleasant stay. Terminal 3 at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is just a 2-3 minute walk away, and there’s a bus terminal right outside for trips to central Paris. The location and overall quality were good, and I’d consider staying here again.

Our room was spacious and very clean, though the location was a bit farther away than I expected. We had dinner in the restaurant, where Wahiba was welcoming and pleasant and made us feel right at home. The one negative: they charge 15.00 euro for a cup of “gourmet” coffee, so I skipped it.

The bus stop and airport tram are only a few minutes from the entrance, which made getting around easy. The elevators were quick and seemed almost telepathic, often already waiting on our floor. Our room was quiet, and the TV had several English-speaking channels. We only dealt with staff at check-in and check-out, but they were poised and professional. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, though apparently it’s nice. After 21 days in Paris, we booked the Hilton for our last night before a 10am flight. We didn’t want to risk finding a cab, Uber, bus or metro at 6-7am. Most of the trip we’d stayed in budget hotels, since all we needed was a dry place to sleep and hot shower water. For only a little more than we’d usually paid, the Hilton gave us a generous room, a nice bathtub, a great bed and down pillows. If a pillow pokes you, that’ll be the down feathers. I booked partly because we’d “inherited” a nice sauna that’s been in storage for a few years, and the Hilton has a sauna and fitness center included. My wife and I tried the sauna. If you like saunas, you’ll probably enjoy it, but we learned we aren’t sauna people and will now sell our stored 4-person sauna. Free research! My one suggestion would be to have a doorman. We had luggage, as I’m sure most guests do, and the revolving door seemed intentionally and perhaps permanently out of service. It would help to have someone open the non-automatic door and point out that the registration desk is to the left as you enter.
