Le Clos Mariotte

Florence welcomed me so warmly after I made an unexpected stop at Clos Mariotte B&B. She's a beautiful lady, and she served a fantastic breakfast. The bed was very comfortable too. If you need a short stay, give Florence a try, and tell her le Madame Eccosse sent you.

Quiet place with nice rooms, some intriguingly carved into the rock face. And there's a super friendly fluffy cat.

The owner was fantastic and did everything they could for you. Excellent place to stay.

We had the "Faverolles" room. It was nicely decorated, clean and cool, which was welcome because it was really hot outside. There was shower gel and soap in the bathroom. Breakfast was really good, with homemade brioche and four homemade jams: lemon-zucchini, clementine with Christmas spices, apricot and blackcurrant. Some were jellies. I thought it was great and there was plenty. I might even say it was the best jam I've ever had. If you don't like jam at all, you might be disappointed, but when the bread is homemade too, I'm already sold. There was as much coffee as we wanted, or tea, and cocoa was offered as well. We had a nice breakfast at the table with the owner and enjoyed chatting with her. All in all, a lovely stay for us. 😇 The one small downside was the menu on the website, which confused us. You have to call ahead for a "small platter," but we couldn't tell that from the website, so we missed out.
