Astala Guesthouse

The continental breakfast was easy to help yourself to, and the breakfast room has lovely marina views. Astala Lodge is conveniently placed by the marina, close to the town centre and train station. I've stayed twice this week with friends, and both visits were pleasant. Our twin room and beds were comfortable, and the owner was helpful. Bangor's weather kept changing, but the room temperature stayed comfortable and we all slept well. My only suggestion would be slightly bigger mugs in the rooms, since the ones provided were a bit small for a decent cup of tea. I'd happily recommend Astala and stay again when I'm back in Bangor. Many thanks.

Steve was friendly and helpful, and the rooms are a decent size. Everything is within walking distance, so I'd definitely come back.

Julie showed us around the guest house and helped us pick a lovely spot for dinner. The room was very comfortable, and the place was spotless. There's a noisy toilet pump, which cost it a point, though I'd still rather have that than a toilet that won't flush. It's a gorgeous little gem right on Bangor's seafront.

Our room was immaculate and looked out over the harbour. Cafes and pubs are just a short walk away. Stephen, who checked us in, was so friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
