The Rising Sun is close to everything, and we had a very pleasant break. We booked two nights in a family room for three adults, with plenty of space for all of us. It was very clean, and the owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an excellent continental spread. We also ate there in the evening, when the extensive menu and delicious food made a good impression. I’d recommend it and would definitely stay again.

We came as a big group for Sunday roast, and everyone was impressed with the food and service. The place was clean, warm and welcoming, and the roast was stunning. They also took my coeliac needs seriously. The chef called before we booked, and I could have meat, vegetables and roast potatoes like everyone else, along with gluten-free Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese. They even made a special gluten-free crumble for pudding. I was really impressed and would highly recommend it.

I stayed for two nights last week, and it was lovely to find an inn that welcomes dogs. The room was large, neat, clean and full of sunlight. The staff were friendly with my dogs, though I still see keeping the room clean as my responsibility as their owner. Breakfast was nice, especially the coffee. They make it fresh rather than serving instant. I’d definitely recommend the place.

The room was lovely and very clean, with tea and coffee facilities and a powerful rain shower. We enjoyed a drink in the hearty bar downstairs and a lovely breakfast the next morning. Staff were thoughtful, attentive and very welcoming. They gave us a thorough tour, including an after-hours access route, which was handy as we wanted to see some nightlife. They also provided a parking permit, which not many places do. A great stay in a good location. I’ll be back and would recommend it to anyone staying in Bath.

On our first day in Bath, my wife and I had a lovely Sunday lunch in the courtyard. The starters and mains were delicious and came in generous portions. The owners were friendly and suggested other pubs to try around town. They also have a sweet little shop dog who came over to greet us.
