We booked two rooms for our big family, and both were fantastic. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, modern and clean, with a TV in each room and loads of channels. Breakfast was included too. I’ve stayed in four-star hotels with lower standards than this guesthouse. Staff were friendly and quick to bring us extra towels when we asked. Really recommend it in Belfast, and we’ll definitely return.

The room was a decent size, fresh and neat, and the beds were solid. That tartan carpet was like walking on a blanket. Staff were very friendly, and the location was handy for different places to eat and near a mosque. Breakfast was very basic, with no rolls, scones, croissants or mushrooms in sight. Some paint was peeling too. Still, I came away with a good impression.

The beds were fairly comfortable, the place was clean, and the bathroom was nice enough. But the breakfast was really poor: cheap diluted juice, value bread, no fruit and a disappointing cereal selection. There were no glasses in the room, just one teaspoon for two people, and only one very substandard pillow on each bed. Sound carried everywhere, so we could clearly hear other guests snoring, talking and watching TV at all hours. We got one towel each and no hand towel.

The large, quite old house has a good feel to it. I read that it dates from the Victorian age. I stayed in bedroom 3 and enjoyed it, especially the fairly spacious bathroom. I was there for about 66 nights last autumn, and remember the genuine warmth, cordiality and very good price I was offered. I had a really good time all round.

The bed was decent, the place was clean and the shower was nice. Still, my first reaction was to give this place one star, and I’m hesitating only because of those positives. When we arrived to check in around 14:30, no staff were there. We were nearly ready to find somewhere else for the night, then checked again at 18:00 and found someone. The hostess had to make up our room before we could get in, and told us breakfast ran from 7:30-9:00. In the morning the lights were off and nobody was there. We waited around 30 minutes, then I gave up.
