After a four-hour walk with our dog, we spotted the sign saying dogs were welcome and popped in for a burger and a pint each. Great call. The food was delicious and properly filled us up. It’s one of my favourite pubs I’ve been in, with lovely decor and atmosphere. I really liked the playlist, too. You don’t often find somewhere playing Nirvana!

The pies were nice, and the staff were friendly, but the roast dinner was a real disappointment. The chicken was a dry breast baked in the oven, not roast chicken, and I’m pretty sure the gravy was Bisto rather than homemade. The extra pigs in blankets were three cheap sausages with three cheap pieces of fried bacon on top. The potatoes were oily and soft, as if they’d been roasted and reheated. The vegetables were plain, and could have been better with something like roasted carrots or braised cabbage instead of plain boiled veg. The leeks weren’t creamy either, just very plain. Stuffing and Yorkshire pudding were the only good parts, both freshly cooked and tasty. Such a shame about the roasts.

We felt so well looked after throughout our family birthday weekend. The staff and managers were kind, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. The food was lovely, full of flavour and beautifully presented, and everyone in our group enjoyed it. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and finished to a high standard, which made the stay relaxing. The whole celebration felt special. We’ll book future family events here, even though it’s a bit out of our way. It’s worth the trip. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

The beds were unbelievably comfortable, and the shower had just the right pressure. There were thoughtful little touches like mini toiletries and cotton pads. Mike and Jenny were friendly hosts and really accommodating. The live music from Hannah Popey was a brilliant crowd pleaser. We had a lovely full English the next morning, with quality ingredients and a proper filter coffee machine. The Pont-Y-Pair is right by the river in a great spot for getting to the walls. A gorgeous weekend stay in Betws!

We came in thinking we’d just have a drink, then the menu changed our minds. The fish and chips were delicious, which is unusual for me since they’re often a letdown in restaurants. The fish was well seasoned, and the extra curry sauce made this northern girl happy. It’s a beautiful, dog-friendly pub, conveniently placed near the upper end of Betws-y-Coed’s main street. Perfect for when you’re worn out from shopping.
