Boulevard Hotel

The reception team were miserable, rude and unhelpful, which is a shame because the room itself was lovely. On arrival, I had contactless payment, but the receptionist snapped that it was card only and in the terms and conditions. When I said I had no other way to pay, he let me use contactless, then abruptly said it was pay-as-you-go only. We’d paid for Ripley and golf tickets, but Gabriele had only given us one ticket. Ripley told us it was meant to cover both and called the hotel. We walked back to collect the rest, then waited another 15 minutes while he made calls and got defensive before eventually handing over the tickets. The toilet broke overnight. When I mentioned it in the morning, they blamed it on having an accessible room that takes longer to flush, which wasn’t true. Again, they were defensive and didn’t apologise. Because I had a bad stomach, I chose cereal and checked with the restaurant staff that I wouldn’t be charged £20. They were lovely and said it was an £8.50 supplement, but reception then argued we owed £35, asked what I’d eaten and offered no apology. We paid £15 for parking and were told we’d get a ticket if the car wasn’t moved at checkout. They also earmarked £295 and deducted another £205 from my account without authorisation. Based on the service, this is more like a 3-star hotel. The hotel is beautiful, but I wouldn’t give them another penny.

The sea views and spotless, beautifully designed hotel made a great first impression. It felt modern, luxurious and welcoming, and the location was perfect. Our spacious room was finished to a high standard and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The staff were friendly, professional and always ready to help, so the whole stay felt easy and special. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the food was excellent. A brilliant stay from start to finish. We’d highly recommend it and will definitely return.

The room was comfortable and spacious for our family, and we had a pleasant one-night stay. There was quite a bit of noise from the floor above, though. If we were in room 138, whoever was upstairs sounded like a herd of elephants and kept making noise. Check-in was straightforward, and the woman was polite and helpful. We collected our park tickets and VIP entrance pass in the morning, and guests can use the park’s back gate right beside the hotel. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, but noticed you could have food in the downstairs bar without booking. My main gripe is the children’s breakfast price: £15 per child is far too much, especially for younger kids who don’t eat much. I know the hotel is considered “luxury”, but still. Despite that, it was a pleasant stay.

The room was brilliant and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Reception staff were very helpful. We skipped breakfast because I was meeting friends. Pleasure Beach is right next door, and we parked nearby to avoid the charges. I’d definitely stay again!
