OYO Abbey Lodge Hotel

My wife had one of the best vegetarian breakfasts she's ever had, just as good as the meat breakfasts for me and the kids. The manager and staff did everything they could to keep our stay comfortable. Our room was clean, with plenty of towels, tea and coffee. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return.

The bed was comfortable, but the room was dirty, with dust and hair everywhere. The bathroom was tiny and unclean, and the cups had mould on the bottom. The photos on the website don't show how bad the problems are. Repairs were clearly needed, and wallpaper was peeling off the walls. It smelled of wet dog and body odour. I wouldn't stay again.

The location is great, close to all the attractions, and the breakfast was fantastic, with proper butcher's sausages. The staff made us feel welcome, and Michelle and Paul went the extra mile to make everything fun and straightforward.

Brand new beds and bedding, and the breakfast and service were faultless. Michelle, Paul and everyone on the team, including their family and friends, gave us a wonderful welcome, a great atmosphere and plenty of laughs. Huge thanks to you all, and I hope you'll have us back next year! 🍻xx Just a little disappointed we didn't see any herds of wildebeeste sweeping majestically across the plain!
