I was given a room with no door handle, and the bed had several stains, including some I thought might be poo. The shower had no base. After I complained, I was shown six other rooms, and they were just as bad. One didn't even have a working main light. The manager spoke to me aggressively, called me “delusional,” and refused my refund, saying I was a fussy girl and wouldn't get anything better at a budget hotel. I still expect clean, unstained bedding and working facilities, even at a budget hotel. His language towards me was horrible and vile. I was a 17-year-old girl, and he swore at me and said I wasn't getting my money back. I couldn't leave quickly enough, and was out within an hour of checking in. Disgusting place and disgusting staff. Never come here, there's a better cheap hotel down the road. Edit: He's also claiming I had no ID and that guests need to be 18. My boyfriend, who was the lead booker, was 18. The hotel was disgusting, and the manager and staff used disgusting language with customers. The other reviews will tell you the same thing.

We stayed one night, and that was more than enough. The bar glass we were given was filthy, and there were exposed cables that looked dangerous. I wasn't keen on dinner after that. The carvery gammon and veg weren't great, the carrots were rock hard, and I barely touched the meat because I wasn't sure about it and didn't want to get sick. We skipped breakfast and went to Wetherspoons instead. Check-in was at 1pm, although I thought it was meant to be 3pm. A receptionist booked us in, then a cleaner showed us through a maze of corridors to a double en-suite room. I think the £82 price included dinner and breakfast. We were offered parking near the room, but I knew there was a charge, despite Tripadvisor saying it was free, so we parked around the corner instead. After a show, we went out around Blackpool, then came back planning to watch TV and have a drink from Morrisons. The TV had no Ariel and wasn't connected to the internet, so it didn't work. We hadn't realised there was no tea or coffee in the room either. My partner called Lenny for supplies, and was told the door wouldn't be open until 9am and that he should have got them the night before. The room was beside a fire exit. We'd been told the door would be closed and wouldn't open, but when we got back it was wide open and wouldn't shut when we tried. It seemed like a risk. I was freezing all night, and there was loud noise from above, as if people were moving house. A woman knocked on their door to ask them to quiet down, and they told her to shut up. I woke with a bad back, cold and tired, and don't know when they finally went to sleep. My partner said Lenny had an attitude problem, and the replies to reviews seem to back that up. Someone we met said there were bedbugs the size of ladybugs, and that the owners used fake photos. I can't confirm that, but it wasn't reassuring. We stayed at the Norbeck hotel, a Britannia known for old, outdated hotels, and this place was far worse. We also saw a few young lads coming and going while the owner wore a very expensive coat. Make of that what you will. We left early. I expect I'll get abuse for this review, but if customers were looked after, there wouldn't be so many bad reviews.

The bar was fully stocked and the location was central, so it was good value for money. I stayed two nights. The room was clean and had soap, towels and tea ready when I arrived. Late checkout costs £15 for noon or £25 for 2pm. Breakfast is £6.95.

We booked two family rooms, and both were disgusting. After checking in, we only put our cases down and went straight out, so we didn't look closely until we got back around midnight after the fireworks and arcades. In the first room there were holes everywhere, blood stains on the doors and handles, a grimy bathroom, and no curtains, just a blind with five or six panels. The second room was much the same, but also had lots of live bedbugs on the beds and in the drawers. We had two small children, a baby, older children and my elderly mother with us. We gathered our things and left at 1 in the morning, freezing as we walked the streets. After several calls, we found a lovely B&B open for us, but had to pay £240 for two rooms. The person behind the bar just said “ok” when I went to tell them. They were no help and very unprofessional. I'm trying to get my money back, but Booking.com won't answer. Avoid this place at all costs. It needs reporting to Trading Standards.

We left after about 20 minutes and booked somewhere else. The bedroom window was broken and couldn't be opened, the sink was hanging off, and the bathroom was awful, with mould on the shower curtain. There was mould in the cups, blood on the sheets, live wires hanging from the fire alarm, and PAT test stickers on the sockets with no dates. The whole place was disgusting. I'd booked online and wish I'd read the reviews first. At check-in, before giving us a key, the man joked that he was “pissed off” with his cleaner. I felt things were going downhill from that point. I wouldn't let a dog live there. Update: The owner says we were there for hours, but it was no more than 30 minutes. We spent that time booking a new room across the road, which was lovely. We didn't confront him before leaving because he had his whole family there and we thought he might hurt us. It also stunk of weed from them smoking drugs. As for the “quickie” remark, why would anyone sleep in beds covered in bedbugs, as other reviews have said? Why would all these different customers lie? The photos speak for themselves. I have proof of how long we were there. Would you like me to send it?
