The Chimes on the sea

Some recent negative reviews had made me unsure, but I'm glad we stayed. The room was spotless and had all the basics we needed. The place was clean, comfortable, and affordable, and the staff were polite and helpful. It's right on the main Promenade, which is a great location. I'd highly recommend it.

The host was lovely, but the hotel doesn't live up to its owner. It was dirty and worn out and needs a major overhaul. So many things felt as if they were about to come off in your hand, and we have photos. We found the hallway cards saying how much people enjoyed their stay hard to believe. The second room we were offered was a little better, but still small. My partner fell because there wasn't enough space and now has a real black eye after hitting the sliding toilet door. We've never stayed anywhere worse in Blackpool, and definitely won't return.

We had to cut our stay short because we couldn't bear to remain in this absolutely disgusting hotel. The room was filthy and smelled awful. There was poo around the back of the toilet, and a towel over the pipe there had poo and mould on it. The windows were absolutely minging, and sockets were hanging off the walls.

I nearly cancelled after reading earlier reviews, but I'm so glad we went. The management were nice and polite. Everything was clean and tidy, and it smelled fresh as soon as we came in. The beds were comfy, and the shower was one of the best I've had in Blackpool. Perfect location. It'll be our number one hotel for future stays.
